Norton, 74, of Prospect Hill Drive, East Windsor, entered into eternal peace on Friday, May 11, 2001, at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center, Hartford. Ellen was born in Hartford and was an East Windsor resident for 41 years. She was the widow of Lawrence T. Norton, who died in 1990. Ellen was a member of St. Philip Church, East Windsor, of which she was very active, having served on numerous parish activities and committees. Ellen was formerly employed by the Felician Sisters' Enfield Montessori School for 22 years as a teacher's aide and retired in 1991. Ellen was a wonderful mentor of young children. She will always be remembered for her love of children. She shared and touched the lives of many young children. Ellen was a volunteer for the Enfield Loaves and Fishes. She is survived by a son, Robert L. Norton of East Windsor; a daughter, Mary Ellen Norton of Cromwell; and a sister, Elaine Martino of East Hartford. Funeral services for Ellen will be held at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, May 15, at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Road (Exit 48 off Interstate 91, Route 220 east 1¼ miles), Enfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Philip Church, East Windsor. Burial will be in St. Catherine's Cemetery, Broad Brook. Calling hours for Ellen will be from 5 to 9 p.m. on Monday, May 14, at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Susan G.
