Pershan Stephen E. Pershan, 60, of East Hartford, beloved husband of Barbara (Zierler) Pershan, died suddenly Saturday, April 14, 2001, at Rockville General Hospital. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of the late Louis and Martha (Cohen) Pershan, and had lived in the East Hartford area for most of his life. He was employed with Bob's Discount Furniture of Newington for 10 years. He was a U.S Army veteran. He also was an avid golfer. He will be dearly missed by his loving family. Besides his wife, he is survived by two loving daughters, Dawyn Carter of East Hartford, and Alyssa Vigue and her husband, Martin, of East Granby; a brother, Barry Pershan and his wife, Adrienne, of Maryland; two grandchildren, Richard Carter and Danyelle Carter; three special nieces, Lisa Pershan and Jackie Benn both of Maryland, and Patricia Spinelli of New Jersey; and several other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Ronald Pershan. A graveside service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, in B'Nai Sholom Cemetery, Newington, at the corner of Jordan Lane and Maple Avenue. Memorial observances will be held at the Pershan home, 104 Manor Circle, East Hartford, on Tuesday, April 17, Wednesday, April 18, and Thursday, April 19, with evening prayers at 7:30 p.m. A service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 21, at Temple Beth Tefilah, 465 Oak St., East Hartford.
