He was born Feb. 24, 1963, in Hartford the son of Emile and Sylvia (Tedford) Poirier of Willington. David worked and volunteered at the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp in Ashford and had been active in the Special Olympics activities. In addition to his parents, he is survived by 3 brothers, Donald Poirier and his wife, Kim Page, of Eastford, Roger Poirier and his wife, Priscilla, of Stafford and Richard Poirier and his wife, Carolyn, of Belchertown, Mass.; 7 nieces and nephews; and 3 great nieces and nephews. David was predeceased by his loving companion, Joyce Cassidy. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195), Willimantic on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Jude Church, Old Farms Rd., Willington, with burial following in the Willington Hill Cemetery.
