Stanley, 72, of South Windsor, beloved husband to Margaret (Hanson) Stanley, died Monday, May 14, 2001, at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Born in Farmington, Maine, son of the late Clarence and Beryl Stanley, he lived in Hartford before moving to South Windsor 34 years ago. Donal served with the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a 1950 graduate of Bliss Business College, Lewiston, Maine. Before he retired in 1986, he was employed by Pratt & Whitney, East Hartford, for 35 years. He was an active member of the South Windsor Square Dance Club. Besides his wife, Margaret, he is survived by a sister, Doris Stanley of Durham, N.C.; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Joseph C. and Robin Petrie of East Hartford, Michael P. Petrie of South Windsor, and David E. and Luetta Petrie of Epping, N.H.; seven grandchildren, Jeannette, Suzanne, Daniel, Dennis, Kristin, Josh, and Jasmine; a great-grandson, David Michael; and a brother-in-law and his wife, John E. and Carolyn Hanson of Wichita, Kan. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 17, at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor. Burial with military honors will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
