Born in Beacon Falls, the son of the late Alexander and Mary (Johnson) Stryjeski, he lived in Weston, Vt., for 19 years, which he loved, and in Connecticut most of his life. He had worked at Grand Union Stores prior to his retirement in 1980, was an Army veteran of World War II, and served in the Pacific. Besides his wife of almost 50 years, Arlene, he leaves his dog, Weston. Eugene also leaves his three sisters, Wanda Lassen of Florida, Emily Muzikevik of South Windsor, and Adelaide Doherty of Vernon; and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 21, at Grove Hill Cemetery, Rockville. There are no calling hours. The Ladd-Turkington Funeral Home, Vernon, is in charge of arrangements.
