Janet "Betty" (Lucas) Slaydon

Janet "Betty" (Lucas) Slaydon, 68, of Enfield, entered into eternal rest Sunday,
April 8, 2001.
Born on Nov. 24, 1932, in Enfield, the daughter of the late Beatrice (Rutherford) Lucas, 
she was a lifelong Enfield resident. She was a graduate of Enfield High School and formerly employed by Aetna Life & Casualty, Springfield, for 18 years, having retired many years ago.
She is survived by her loving family: a daughter, Debra L. Simlick of Vernon; a son, 
Glen J. Slaydon and his wife, Karen, and a daughter, Corale S. Khen and her husband, Ly, 
all of Enfield; and eight grandchildren, Richard, Jason, and Tara Simlick, Alison and Kyle 
Slaydon, Kelsey Shutes, and Keiona and Brandon Khen. (Her message to them: Please don't 
smoke, and if you do, please stop.) Betty leaves behind her dear friends, Millie Porcello, 
Lee Pappagallo, Joan Jarvis, Janet Gross, and especially Lenny and Kathy Porcello, whom 
she would like to thank for taking her beloved pet and companion, Tillie. She was 
predeceased by two brothers, Richard and Ralph Lucas.
Funeral services are private at the family's convenience.
Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield, is assisting her family with 
arrangements.
