Sheridan Margaret "Peggy" M. Sheridan, 74, born Sept. 7, 1926, went to her eternal rest on Thursday, April 19, 2001, after a lengthy illness. She was born in Yonkers, N.Y., to Patrick and Nora Ginnance as the second of nine children. As a graduate of Sacred Heart High School, she became a full-time employee for the Otis Elevator Co. in the accounting department until she married her lifelong husband, Francis "Frank," of 50 years on Dec. 2, 1950. After a brief stay in West Palm Beach, Fla., Peggy and Frank resided in Hartford and East Hartford while raising their nine children. Peggy was a parishoner of St. Issac Jogues Church and worked for a few years at the G. Fox Co., Hartford. Peggy leaves her husband, Frank; one daughter, Ruth Lytwyn and son-in-law, Lawrence, and grandsons Lawrence and Timothy, of Monson, Mass.; eight sons: Francis of East Hartford; the Rev. Brian of Orlando, Fla.; Kevin and daughter-in-law Maureen, and granddaughters Mary and Jennifer of South Windsor; Daniel of East Hartford; James and Joseph, both of Atlanta, Ga.; Dennis and daughter-in-law, Debbie, and granddaughter Elizabeth of East Hartford; and John of Stafford Springs. She also leaves her sisters, Clare Walker and family of Bloomington, Ind., and Noreen Ginnance of Yonkers; and a brother, Mayor John Spencer of Yonkers. She was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph, Raymond, and Jack; and sisters Angela Harrington and Joan Gibson. The funeral will be held Monday, April 23, at 9:15 a.m. from the Farley-Sullivan Funeral home, 50 Naubuc Ave., Glastonbury, followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 10 a.m. in St. Issac Jogues Church, 1 Community St., East Hartford, with the Rev. Brian Sheridan, M.S., officiating. Burial will follow in Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford.
