Taylor, 69, of Vernon, formerly of Manchester, died suddenly Sunday, May 27, 2001, at home. Born May 21, 1932, in Manchester, son of the late James and Margaret (Hall) Taylor, he had been a resident of Vernon for more than 40 years. Mr. Taylor was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Air Force. He was employed for more than 30 years with Southern New England Telephone until his retirement in 1985, and was a longtime member of the British-American Club in Manchester. Mr. Taylor is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Linda Taylor of Manchester, and Clayton and Christine Taylor of Easley, S.C.; a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Chris Ubaldi of Middlebury; two brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Nancy Taylor and Robert and Nancy Taylor, all of Manchester; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Jean Smith of Storrs and Shirley and Harold Wilson of Manchester; six grandchildren, Renee Taylor, David Taylor, Ryan Taylor, Sarah Taylor, Lillian Taylor, and Andrew Ubaldi; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Edna Maxwell. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 31, at Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St., Manchester. Burial will follow in East Cemetery, Manchester.
