Tyman Sr., 81, of Old County Road, Windsor Locks, beloved husband for 50 years of Mary J. (Collins) Tyman, died Wednesday, May 9, 2001, at Kettlebrook Health Care Center, East Windsor. John was born in Plainfield, N.J., and had lived in Greenfield, Mass., and later Colchester before moving to Windsor Locks in 1954. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and had been employed by Pratt & Whitney for 30 years, retiring in 1984. Besides his wife, Mary, he is survived by his children, Maryalice Potter of Enfield, John J. Tyman Jr. and his wife, Deborah, of Suffield, Patricia A. Henriksen and her husband, Neil, of East Hampton, Eileen W. Gannuscio and her husband, Alan, of Windsor Locks, and Joseph M. Tyman and his wife, Paula, of Suffield; and 11 grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Kathleen, and a son, James. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, May 12, at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks, for a procession to St. Robert Bellarmine Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. John's family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 11, at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 52 S.
