He was the husband of Anna (Marcuccilli) Viscogliosi. Born in Arpino, Italy, son of the late Antonio and Assunta (Zompetta) Viscogliosi. He came to the United States on October 10, 1956, when he was 20 years old. He made America his country, but brought Italy to his family. The life that he created for himself here was filled with laughter, joy, kindness, and peace. He had a special relationship with the outdoors and loved animals. He was a man of great strength, who was truly humble, hardworking, and quiet. His actions spoke louder than his words and his love centered upon his family. His greatest gift to his family and friends were the virtues that he lived: courage, generosity, compassion, gentleness, and perseverance. His finest moments were those spent with his wife, Anna, his children, and grandchildren. To them, he was a prince among men. He will always be with his loving wife, Anna; his beloved daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Andrea Calabrese of Talcottville; his sons, Tony, J.J., and Marc, all of New York City. He will continue to guide and protect always his 2 beloved granddaughters, Angelica and Arianna Calabrese of Talcottville. He remains in the hearts of his brother and sister-in-law, Elio and Sue of Carsonville, Mich.; his sisters, Lina, Marianna, and Elvira; and a brother-in-law, Sandro, all in Italy; and many nieces and nephews. The funeral procession will leave from the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Rd. (Rte. 83), Vernon, Thursday, April 10 at 10:15 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 550 Hartford Tpke., Vernon. Entombment will be in Mt. St. Benedict Mausoleum.
