TITLE: Frank Joseph Vecchiolla Sr., Obituary, April 2, 2003 SUBMITTERS: Journal Inquirer Manchester,CT (issue April 4, 2003) FORMATTED: ABishop, April 2003 ***************************************************************************** VECCHIOLLA Frank Joseph Vecchiolla Sr., 77, of Somers Road, Ellington, husband of Germaine Viola (Blouin) Vecchiolla, died Wednesday, April 2, 2003, at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Hartford, November 1, 1925, son of the late Joseph & Jennie (Squatrito) Vecchiolla, he attended the Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, N.Y. and the University of Connecticut. He was president of JV Motor Lines, a member of the Motor Transport Association, and was a life member of the Rockville Lodge #1359, B.P.O.E. and the Kiwanis Club. He was active in St. Joseph Church and St. Luke Church. He was also active in Ellington Recreational Athletics, where he coached Little League Baseball and sponsored basketball teams. Frank held a private pilot's license and parachuted. Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter and son-in-law, Francine Vecchiolla and Duncan Reid of Somers and their son, Trevor; a son and daughter-in-law, Frank Joseph Vecchiolla Jr., and Cheryl Vecchiolla of Tolland, their children and spouses, Julie & Robert Norval of Monson, Mass., and Kevin & Karen Komorowski of Fallston, Md.; a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph John Vecchiolla II and Lisa Vecchiolla of Forest Hill, Md. And their children, Joshua, Bradley, and Janelle. He also leaves his great-grandchildren, Emma and Andrew Norval. He was predeceased by a son, Alan Drew Vecchiolla. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, April 5, at noon in St. Luke Church, 141 Maple St., Ellington. The family will receive friends at a reception following the Mass in the St. Luke Church Hall. Private entombment will be in Mt. St. Benedict Mausoleum, Bloomfield.
