Born in Mannheim, Germany, the son of the late Wilhelm and Elisabeth (Wolf) Weber, he apprenticed as a pattern maker before emigrating to the United States in 1954. He joined the United States Army and served his new country in Korea. After his discharge he settled in New Jersey and came to Vernon in 1966. In 1970 he founded Arrow Pattern & Model Co. with his partner Ron Trueb. In 1994, the name of the company was changed to Arrow Diversified Tooling Inc. He was a very active member of the Hartford Saengerbund Club, having served as president, helping to found the golf league and many other activities of the club. He was also a member of the CT Tooling and Machining Association and the Tolland County Chamber of Commerce. He was an avid skier and golfer. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Garry Weber and his wife, Anne, of Pittsburgh; a daughter, Carol Tani and her husband, Peter, of Vernon; a brother, Helmut Weber of Germany; five beloved grandchildren, Bryan, Paul and Charles Weber, and Rachael and Olivia Tani; his nieces and nephews, Wernfried, Gabi, Simone, and Viola; his aunt, Stella Kittel of Manchester; and his beloved schwiegermutter, Caroline Krieski of Manchester. He was predeceased by his sister, Inge Vondung. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 23, at St. Matthew Church, 111 Tolland Green, Tolland, with the Rev. Joseph Ekeburg, pastor of Peace Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, April 22, at Ladd-Turkington Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road, Route 83, Vernon.
