Donald Orsen West, 74, of Wethersfield, passed on Thursday, May 17, 2001, at 
St. Francis Hospital. He was husband of Arlene (Blinn) West.

Born in Tolland, son of the late Rupert and Sarah (Wilcox) West, he resided in 
Wethersfield since 1959. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and retired 
from the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation in 1981. He was a 40-year 
member of Silas Deane Lodge No. 147 A.F.&A.M., Pythagorus Chapter No. 17 R.A.M., 
Wolcott Council No. 1 R.&S.M., Washington Commandery No. 1, K.T., the Wethersfield 
Chapter No. 97 O.E.S., and Fidelity Court No. 16 Order of the Amaranth. He also was a 
member of the Wethersfield Post No. 7827 V.F.W., and the Tolland Grange.

Besides his wife, he leaves his daughter, Darline E. Hache and her husband, Roger, of 
Goshen; his sons, Walter D. West and his wife, Linda, of Willington, and Donald L. West 
and his wife, Becky, of Tolland; his brother, Robert B. West of Somers; his sister, 
Ruth W. Frankfort in Florida; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and many 
nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, at the United Congregational 
Church of Tolland, Tolland Green. Burial, with military honors, will be in North 
Cemetery, Tolland.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, May 21, at the Ladd Funeral 
Home, 19 Ellington Ave., Rockville.
