Woods Sr., of Enfield, formerly of Windsor, died Saturday, May 26, 2001, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Stafford. Born in Wethersfield, son of the late Charles F. and Emma (Damroth) Woods, he lived in Windsor, moving to Enfield over 40 years ago. He had been a contractor, building homes in Windsor, East Hartford, Broad Brook, and Enfield. He leaves a son, retired U.S. Air Force Maj. Charles E. Woods Jr. of Enfield; four daughters, Laurie Chagnon of Windsor, Charlotte Unghire of Enfield, Nancy Emond of Broad Brook, and Shirley Porter of East Hartford; 20 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, Mona Chagnon. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, at the Chapel of the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor. Burial will be in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. His family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, May 28, at the funeral home.
