She was born Sept. 20, 1924, in Russellville, Ala., the daughter of Fred and Minnie (Bendall) Henley. On May 31, 1943, she married William H. Wallace Jr. in Birmingham, Ala. Mrs. Wallace was an avid Southern cook and enjoyed spending time with her family. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, William H. "Skip" Wallace III of Manchester; three daughters, Diane Cesarini of Waterford, Marie Applegate of Grand Bay, Ala., and Pamela King of Waterford; a brother, James Henley of Birmingham; a sister, Betty Allen of Lake Jackson, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Three brothers, Fred Jones Henley, Hoyle Henley, and Lemuel Henley, and a sister, Frances Clark, predeceased her. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 28, at Thomas L. Neilan & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Ocean Ave., New London. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 28, at the funeral home.
