(Kelly) Wilde, 87, of Manchester, left this life on Wednesday, May 9, 2001. She was the widow of Thomas Crawford Wilde. Born in Ashton-Under-Lyne, England, daughter of the late James and Ellen (Ford) Kelly, she had lived in Fall River, Mass., and Hampden, Maine, before moving to Manchester. Ellen was known for her giving to others both during and after her retirement from the garment industry. She was a volunteer at an adult day center, crocheted afghans and carriage blankets, assisted at church functions, fed birds and stray cats, cared for the sick, and wrote notes of cheer. She lived with and was cared by her daughter, Ellen Elizabeth "Beth" Wilde, and Ellen's granddaughter, Kelly E. Field. Ellen also leaves a grandson, Anthony R. R. Gagnon Jr.; and great-grandson Adam G. Gagnon, both of East Hartford. She also is survived by a sister, Alice Jackson of Fall River, Mass.; nephew Robert Jackson and his wife, Florence, of Fall River, Mass.; great-nephews and nieces Michael, Joanne, Kathy Jackson, and Ellen (Jackson) McCabe; three grand-nephews, Brandon Jackson, and Christopher and Zachary McCabe. A memorial service to celebrate Ellen's life will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be alongside Ellen's late husband in Maine Veterans Cemetery, Augusta, Maine. Devoted members of several organizations, clergy, friends, and family aided in fulfilling Ellen's requests to remain at home until her passing. Memorial donations may be made to MHS Roundtable Singers, 134 E.
