Werther, entered into eternal peace Saturday, April 14, 2001. Betty was born in Lee, Mass., and had been a longtime Enfield resident for 45 years. She was employed by Enfield schools for 25 years at JFK Middle School. She was also a member of Order of the Eastern Star Ionic Chapter 100. She loved to travel and spend time with her family. Betty was a strong lady who will be missed, not only by her loving husband, Leonard, but also by many close friends and neighbors. Heaven has truly gained a new angel. Besides her husband, Betty is survived by three sons, Lt. Col. Glenn Werther of Little Rock, Ark., Keith Werther and a daughter-in-law, Pamela Werther, of Agawam, Mass., and Kevin Werther of Little Rock; two daughters, Karen Dunn and a son-in-law, Michael Dunn, of Ellington, and Anita Mooney and a son-in-law, Dennis Mooney, of Enfield; her brother, William Darbe of Nebraska; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Betty was predeceased by a daughter, Barbara Dastous, and two brothers, John and Charles Darbe. A memorial service will be held at 8 p.m. today, April 16, at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield. Burial will be private. Betty's family will welcome relatives and friends for visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. today, April 16, at the funeral home.
