All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ct/ctfiles.htm *********************************************** Know all men by these Presents that I Georg Hockins of Coventry in ye County of Windham and Colony of Conectticut In New England for the Consideration of the sum of four pounds and five shillings Corrant money paid in hand to my Good satisfaction by Samuell Rust of ye Same Town County & Colony afore said ye Receipt whereof I do acknowlidg and thereof Do acquit Discharg ye sd Samuell Rust his Heirs & admirs for ever ther fore Do give Grant Bargain Sell and Confirm unto the Said Samuell Rust his Heirs & Assigns for ever one Tract of Land Near ye West side of ye Township of Coventry and by estimation Contains fifteen acres be it more or Less Laid out to ye Homlott Nom 49 & is butted and Bounded as foloeth - begining att a heap of stons which is the Northeast Corner and from sd stons the Line Runs West by Nathaniell Gilbirts Land eighty Rods to a heap of stons from thence the Line Runs south by the Grantees land seventy Rods to a heap of stons - from thence ye line runs east by undevided Land twenty two Rods to a heap of stons from thence ye Line Runs North by ye Land that was Seth Smiths Decesed fifty five Rods to a heap of stons - from thence ye Line Runs east by sd smiths Land sixty Rods to a heap of stons - from thence ye Line runs north by sd Gilberts Land fifteen Rods to ye first mentioned Bounds to him the sd samuell Rust and his Heirs and assigns for ever to have and to Hold the above granted and Bargained Premises with all ye privilidges and apurtenances thereof unto him the said samuell Rust and his Heirs and assigns for ever to his and their own proper use and Behoof and also I the said Georg Hockins Do for my self my Heirs exets & admirs Covenant with the said samuell Rust his Heirs and Assigns that at and untill the ensealling of these presents I ye said George Hockins am Lawfully seised of the same as a Good perfect and absolute estate In fee simple and have Good Right to Bargain & Sell the same in maner and form as is above written and that ye same is free of all Incombrances and further more I ye said Georg Hockins Do by these presents bind myself and Heirs for ever to warant and Defend the above granted and bargained Tract or peace of Land to ye said samuell Rust his Heirs and Assigns against all Claims and Demands what so ever In Witnes where of I have hearunto sett my hand and seall this 11 day of may A.D. 1730 George X Hockins his mark Signed Sealled and Delivered In Presents of Thomas Porter Joseph Strong Georg Hockins personly apperd In Coventry May ye 11 1730 and acknowlidged the a bove written to be his free act and Deed before me Joseph Strong Justice of the peice The above written a true copy out of ye original entred June ye 27th 1730: Attest Thomas Porter Town Clerk (transcribed by Jan Wilson Ramos 2 Aug 1998 preserving original spelling, punctuation, & syntax)
