Bennett Gladys E. Bennett, 94, formerly of Ruby Road, Willington, died Friday, April 27, 2001, at Woodlake at Tolland. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Rene F. Bennett, who died Oct. 9, 1991. She was born in Ashford, the daughter of the late Lewellyn and Bertha Wilson. Gladys was a retired housekeeper after 25 years of service at the University of Connecticut, Storrs. She was a member of Willington Senior Citizens and the German Shepherd Dog Club of Eastern Connecticut. Gladys is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Rene and Helen Bennett of Woodstock, and William F. and Gloria Bennett of Poland, N.Y.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley M. and Lyman Desso of Vernon, Dorothy and Edwin Jackopsic, and Carol A. and Robert Ellis, all of Willington; 15 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Carrie Chebro of Ashford, Elizabeth Thompson of Vernon, Myrtice Ferry of Norwich, and Judy Krapf of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Alice Janiak, Evelyn Fries, and Vera Busse. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, at Introvigne Funeral Home, 51 E. Main St., Stafford Springs, with the Rev. Mark Larson officiating. Burial will follow in Willington Hill Cemetery, Willington. Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. today, April 30, at the funeral home.
