Court of Probate for the District of Andover. The subscribers having been appointed by said Court Distributors, to distribute the Estate of Harvey Lincoln late of Columbia in said Probate District (now deceased) as will appear by the order of said Court dated June 16th A.D. 1856 have attested to the duties of our appointment, and submit to said Court the following Distribution, to wit; To Mrs Sarah Lincoln Widow of said deceased we have set out as Dower in all the real estate whereof the said Harvey Lincoln died posesed [sic] in his own right, as follows: to wit, commencing on the highway a little northeast of the late dwelling house of said deceased and at the corner of James Thompsons land, and running N10ºW49 rods to a stake and stones, thence N29ºE36 rods to a stake and stones, thence N31ºW26 rods to a stake and stones; thence N59ºW52 rods to land belonging to the heirs of Sylvester Manley deceased; thence by said Manleys land N83ºW3 rods 6 links to a stake and stones; thence S54ºW73 rods to the Hopriver Turnpike road, thence following said road in a southeasterly direction about 65 rods, thence crossing said highway and running in a southwesterly direction by the side of land formerly distributed to the said Sarah Lincoln from the estate of her Mother, - Mrs. Phebe Loomis, deceased, about 50 rods to a stake and stones, then S18ºW10 rods 20 links, to a stake and stones, thence S75ºE9 rods to a stake and stones, thence S60ºE23 ½ rods to a stake and stones, thence S41ºE10 rods 8 links to a stake and stones, thence N16ºE10 rods 10 links to a stake and stones, thence S57 ½º E112 rods to a stake and stones by James Thompsons land, thence by said Thompsons land N7ºE58 rods to the place of beginning, excepting herefrom the Highway of the Hopriver Turnpike company which runs through the above described premises and on the southwest side thereof the bearings and distances being unknown which embraces all the real estate of said deceased except what is hereinafter set to the heirs of said deceased. We have also set to her the said Sarah Lincoln the Elle part of the Dwelling house last occupied by said deceased, also the back room on the lower floor of the upright part of said dwelling house, also the bedroom in the upright adjoining the Ell. Together with the closet in said back room, also a eight in space connecting the Ell with the back room in said upright also a right to the south half of the cellar and to use the stairway leading to the cellar in common with the heirs at law of said deceased, all of which we have set to her the said Sarah Lincoln to be used and occupied by her as Dower during the period of her natural life. To Chester Lincoln son and heir at law of said deceased we have distributed and set out as follows, to wit, a tract of land on the old farm so called bounded and described as follows viz commencing on the highway at the northeast corner of said farm and running S50 ¼º W17 rods 7 links to a stake and stones, hence S19ºW4 rods 15 links to a stake and stones, thence S37ºW31 rods 23 links to a large rock with stones on it, thence S59 ¾º W57 rods to Dec. Benjamin Lyman land, thence S48 ½º W18 rods 14 links to a stake and stones by Chester W. Lymans land, thence N41ºW11 rods & links to a stake and stones by land set to Mrs. Sarah M. Godfrey, thence by said Godfreys land N49ºE about 125 rods to a stake and stones, at the highway thence on said highway S50 ¾º E12 ½ rods to the place of beginning and containing twelve and one half acres. We have also set out to him the said Chester a right in the dwelling house last occupied by said deceased as follows viz the east half of the back chamber, also a right to one half of the large bedroom and the closet connected with and opening out of said chamber in common with Ralph S. Lincoln, also a right to the well of water and to the stairways and pasways in common with the other heirs, also a one sixth part of the north half of the cellar and lying on the west side thereof, the dividing lines of said cellar to run parallel with the length of the house. Also one sixths of the garret it being a division on the south side the dividing lines to run across said garret at right angles with the length of the house all of which is to be and remain to him the said Chester as his own proper estate in fee simple forever. To Mrs. Sarah M. Godfrey daughter and heir at law of said deceased, we have distributed and set out as follows “to wit” a tract of land on the old farm so called bounded and described as follows “viz” commencing on the Hopriver Turnpike, at a stake and stones adjoining the share set to Chester Lincoln and running S49ºW about 125 rods to Chester W. Lymans at a stake and stones thence N41ºW28 rods 5 links to stake and stones adjoining the share set to Ralph Lincoln, thence by said Ralphs land N49ºE about 120 rods to a stake and stones on the Hopriver Turnpike aforesaid thence following said road S50 ¾º E28 rods 12 links to the place of beginning and containing twenty-two and one fourth acres together with the buildings thereon standing. We have also set to her the said Sarah M. a share in the dwelling house last occupied by said deceased as follows, viz the east half of the front room on the lower floor of said house also one sixths part of the north half of the cellar under said house it being the share lying next to Orrin A. Lincolns and is the fifths share from the west side of said cellar, also a share in the garret it being one sixth part thereof and is the share lying next to said Orrin and is the fifth share from the south end thereof, also a right to the well of water and to the stairways and pasways in common with the other heirs as shall be nessary for the use and enjoyment of her said right, all of which is to be and remain to her as her own proper estate in fee simple forever. To Ralph S. Lincoln son and heir at law of said deceased we have distributed and set out as follows, to wit, a tract of land lying on the old farm so called which is bounded and described as follows (viz) commencing on the Hopriver Turnpike at a stake and stones adjoining the share set to Mrs. Sarah M. Godfrey and running by said Sarahs share S49ºW about 120 rods to a stake and stones, thence N41ºW15 rods 18 links to a stake and stones adjoining the share set to Mrs. Philney A. Polk, thence by said Philina share N49ºE about 116 rods to a stake and stones on the highway aforesaid, thence on said highway S53 ¾º E 16 ½ rods to the place of beginning and containing eleven acres. We have also set to him the said Ralph S. a share in the dwelling house last occupied by said deceased as follows “viz” the west half of the back chamber – also on half of the large bedroom and closet – connected with said chamber in common with Chester Lincoln, also one sixth part of the north half of the cellar it being the share next to Chester Lincoln and is the second share from the west side of said cellar also one sixths part of the garret it being the share next to said Chester and the second share from the south end of said garret also a right in common with the other heirs of said deceased to the well of water and to all the gangways, stairways and passways in common with the other heirs as shall be necessary for the enjoyment, use and occupancy of his said right – all of which is be and remain to him the said Ralph S. to him his heirs and assigns as his own proper estate in fee simple forever. To Mrs. Philnea A. Polk daughter and heir at law of said deceased we have distributed and set out as follows “to wit” a tract of land on the old farm (so called) bounded and described as follows “viz” commencing on the Hopriver Turnpike at a stake and stones adjoining the share set to Ralph S. Lincoln and running S49ºW about 116 rods to a stake and stones, thence N41ºW10 rods 11 links to a stake and stones adjoining the share set to Alvin Lincoln thence by said Alvins share N49ºE about 114 rods to the highway aforesaid, thence by said highway S56ºE11 rods 10 links to the place of beginning and containing seven acres and one half. We have also set to her a share in the dwelling house occupied by the said deceased at the time of his decease as follows, viz, the west half of the front room on the lower floor of said house, also one sixths of the north half of the cellar it being the share lying next to Mrs. Godfreys end on the east side of said cellar also one sixth of the garret – it being the share next to Mrs. Godfreys and is on the north end of said garret also a right to the well of water and to all the gangways, stairways, and passway in common with other heirs as may be nessary for the use occupancy enjoyment and improvement of said right, all of which is to be and remain to her, her heirs and assigns as her own proper estate in fee simple forever. To Alvin Lincoln son and heir at law of said deceased we have distributed and set out as follows, to wit, a tract of land on the old farm, so called, and is bounded as follows, viz, commencing on the Hopriver Turnpike at a stake and stones ajoining the share set to Mrs. Philina Polk and running S49ºW about 114 rods to a stake and stones, thence N41ºW10 rods 19 links to a stake and stones adjoining the share set to Orrin A. Lincoln, thence by said Orrins share N49ºE111 ½ rods to the highway aforesaid, thence on said highway S56ºE13 rods 2 links to the place of beginning and containing nine acres, also a share in the Dwelling house last occupied by said deceased as follows “viz” the east half of the front chamber and also one half of the small bedroom in the back chamber in common with Orrin A. Lincoln, also a right in the garret to one sixths part thereof it being the share lying next to Ralph S. Lincoln and is the third share from the south side of said garret, also one sixths of the north half of the cellar it being the division lying next to Ralph S. and is the third share from the west side of said cellar also a right to the well of water and to use all the common gangways, stairways and passways in common with the other heirs as may be nessary for the use occupancy improvement and enjoyment of said right all of which is to be and remain to him the said Alvin his heirs and assigns, as his own proper estate in fee simple forever. To Orrin A. Lincoln son and heir at law of said deceased we have distributed and set out as follows, to wit, a tract of land on the old farm as aforesaid and is bounded and described as follows, viz, commencing on the Hopriver Turnpike at a stake and stones ajoining the share set to Alvin Lincoln and running S49ºW111 ½ rods to a stake and stones thence N41ºW10 rods 19 links to a stake and stones at the corner of Septimus Loomers land, thence by said Loomers land N49ºE111 rods 12 links to the highway aforesaid, thence on said highway S39 ½º E11 rods 10 links to the place of beginning and containing seven and one half acres, we have also set to him the said Orrin A. a share in the dwelling house last occupied by said deceased as follows, viz, the west half of the front chamber, also the one half of the small bedroom in the back chamber in common with Alvin Lincoln, also a share of one sixths of the garret – it being the share lying next to said Alvins share and is the fourth share from the south end of said garret, also a right in the north half of the cellar to the one sixths part thereof it being the share lying adjoining Alvins and is the fourth share from the west side of said cellar – also a right to the well of water and to all the gangways, stairways and passways, in common with the other heirs as shall be necessary for the use, occupancy, enjoyment and improvement of said right all of which is to be and remain to him the said Orrin A. his heirs and assigns as his own proper estate in fee simple forever.
