Frank Nicholson got into a quarrel with Bryan McDonald in the latter’s saloon on Eighth street southeast last Monday night, and Bryan kicked Nicholson’s eye out. He was at the Emergency Hospital yesterday, and his eye was fixed up as well as was possible, but he cannot see with it at all. He swore out a warrant for McDonald, and the police of the Fifth precinct were looking for him last night. Fires Caused by Defective Flues. Mr. C.D. Rodgers’ house, No. 20 Eighth street southeast, was damaged to the extent of $800 by a fire from a defective flue yesterday afternoon. The fire was extinguished by the members of No. 8 fire engine company. No. 1510 R street was slightly damaged by fire from a defective flue yesterday. Suburban. Anacostia. Mr. E.V. Stephenson has purchased the dining-rooms on Harrison and Bridge streets formerly conducted by Mrs. J.J. Murphy. The Anacostia Street Railway Company are having their cars rebuilt and repainted. The cars are painted red and yellow. Mr. T.M. Cawood is no better and Mrs. L.E. Halleck’s condition was a little worse yesterday. Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Barclay, of Fort Monroe, Va., who have been visiting Prof. and Mrs. H.S. Petty, of Washington street, left for their home yesterday morning. Alexandria. R.E. Lee Camp of Confederate Veterans has decided to attend in a body the Confederate reunion at Leesburg on the 25th instant. The camp will be in command of Commander William A. Smoot. The Virginia Midland Railroad Company have paid Mr. P.F. Gorman $500 for the small frame house recently demolished by a derailed engine of the company on south Union street.
