William A. Horton, U.S.A., and Capt. Matthew A. Delaney, medical corps, United States army. Mr. and Mrs. Edson Bradley chaperoned the party, which included Mrs. Herbert Wadsworth, Mrs. Herbert Shipman, Countess Luise-Alexandra von Bernstorff, Miss Dorothy Williams, Miss Carol Newberry, Miss Harriet Southerland, Maj. George E. Squier, U.S.A., Dr. Cary T. Grayson, U.S.N.; Lieut. Gilbert J. Rowcliff, U.S.N., Lieut. John C. Fremont, U.S.N., and Lieut. Edward T. Constein, U.S.N. ----------- Mr. and Mrs. Preston Gibson gave a luncheon yesterday for Miss Harriette Anderson, who is a guest at the White House. The guests were Miss Katherine Elkins, Miss Irene Catlin, of St. Louis,; Admiral Cowles, Mr. Basil Miles, and Capt. Sowerby, of the British embassy. ----------- Mr. Cuthbert Brown entertained at breakfast at the Chevy Chase Club yesterday in compliment to Miss Katherine Clabaugh, daughter of Chief Justice and Mrs. Clabaugh, and Mr. George Beale Bloomer, whose marriage will take place on April 16. Lieut. and Mrs. Charles Russel Train chaperoned the party. Mr. Brown will act as best man for Mr. Bloomer. ----------- Other luncheons at the Chevy Chase Club yesterday were given by Mrs. Morris Evans, in honor of Capt. and Mrs. Beatty, U.S.N., and Mr. and Mrs. Charles L. Mulliken, who entertained in honor of Miss Tracy, of St. Louis, who is visiting Miss Isabella Wells. Others present were Mrs. Tracy, Miss Wells, Capt. Pettus, and Mr. Norman Bestor. ----------- Mr. and Mrs. Thomas B. Hutchinson also entertained at luncheon at the club. ----------- Personal Paragraphs. ----------- Mrs. Depew left Washington yesterday for New York to spend a week. ----------- Lieut. and Mrs. Julian Wilcox have gone to New York to attend Lieut. Green's wedding. While in that city Lieut. and Mrs. Wilcox will be the guests of Mr. and Mrs. August Hecksher. ----------- The counselor of the French embassy and Mme. Lefevre-Pontatis have taken the house of former Gov. and Mrs. William R. Merriam, in Sixteenth street, for a year. ----------- Mrs. Paul Morton will leave for Europe on Wednesday, May 4. ----------- Mr. Frederick W. Rhinelander, of New York, was here for a week-end visit to his fiancee, Miss Constance Satterlee, and her mother, Mrs. Henry Y. Satterlee. The marriage of Miss Satterlee and Mr. Rhinelander will take place in this city on April 28. Miss Satterlee is the daughter of the late Bishop Satterlee, who for many years was rector of Calvary Episcopal Church in New York. ----------- Mr. William Pettus, of the Virginia Seminary, attended the ordination services yesterday morning of Mr. Charles Warner at St. Alban's Church. ----------- Miss Wood, sister of Representative Wood, of New Jersey, will receive tomorrow at the Cochran, from 4 to 7 p. m., for the last time this season. ----------- Musicale for Juvenile Club. ----------- Mrs. F. B. Moran has loaned her beautiful new house in Sheridan circle for a musicale on the evening of April 16, for the benefit of the Washington Juvenile Club. The program, which has been arranged with care, will include selections from the Madrigal Quartet, Miss Evelyn Wilson, of Portland, Oreg., the child pianist, will play; Miss Crennen, a niece of Senator Teller, who has a beautiful soprano voice, will sing, as will Mrs. Hempstead, who has but recently come to Washington, and who is the contralto at the Church of the Covenant. Others who will take part in the program will be Miss Jean Wilson and Mrs. Dulin, who formerly was Miss Elston Rondaville. Miss Mary Cryder was hostess at one of her delightful Sunday musicale teas yesterday afternoon. ----------- Gen. Perry de Leon will give a dance tonight in the old Masonic Temple, in honor of the Daughters of the Confederacy and the young ladies who assisted at the Southern bazaar held in that hall from February 28 to March 5. The dance will follow a lecture by Mr. Claude N. Bennett, who recently lectured before the National Geographic Society. The subject will be, "The Dixie of Today and Tomorrow." ----------- On Thursday evening last Miss Maud V. Schmidt gave a progressive euchre and dancing party in honor of her house guest, Miss Alma V. Heinardinger, of Paynesville, Minn. Among those present were the Misses Irene Oekershausen, Katheryn Baltz, Margaret Hermann, and Mollie Quigley, and Messrs. Herman Eberly, William Woods, William McConners, Fred Giesler, and Louis Ockershausen. Prizes were won by Misses Quigley, Baltz, Hermann, and Messrs. McConners, and Eberly. Refreshments were served. ----------- Miss Street a Bride. ----------- Miss Dea Perry Street, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel B. Street, and Mr. Edgar Stephen Patterson, of Grand Rapids, were married on Saturday at noon at the family residence in Ninth Street. The Rev. A. H. Ames, assisted by the Rev. Charles E. Guthrie, performed the ceremony. The house was decorated with palms and pink flowers. The bride wore a pale salmon-pink broadcloth gown, and a large picture hat with plumes to match. She carried orchids and farleyence fern. After a wedding trip, Mr. and Mrs. Patterson will live in Minneapolis. ----------- Mrs. Josephine Arnold Rich, of 1221 East Capitol street, will be at home Wednesday, April 6, from 3 to 7 o'clock. ----------- One of the interesting tableau for the benefit of the House of Mercy on April 7 will be one depicting July 4, 1776. This tableau is in charge of Miss Susan Kean, Mrs. Wilkes, and Miss Mattin?. Among those who will take part are Lawrence Lee, who will represent his ancestor, Richard Henry Lee; Representative Hamilton Fish, Howard Gilmore, and Miss Beale Howard.
