Among those who attended were Countess von Bernstorff, Viscountess d'Azy, the Misses Cameron, Mrs. Clarence Moore, Mrs. Hunt Slater, Mme. de Sibour, Mrs. Jack Wilkins, Mrs. Copley Thaw, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Townsend, Miss Yvonne Townsend, Miss Esther Slater, Miss Southerland, Miss Margaret Cotton Smith, Miss Peck, Miss Harmon, Miss Harriman, Mr. Algara, of the Mexican embassy; Count d'Adhemar, Mr. de Bach, of the Russian embassy; Baron Hardenbroek, of the German embassy; Mrs. William Littauer, Miss Lay, Mr. W. B. Clarke, Mr. Totten, Mr. Charles Richardson, Mr. Gignoux, of the Swiss legation; Mr. J. Low Harriman, jr., Lieut. Leahy, Lieut. Hickey, and Dr. MacDowell. The club was composed of members of the Monday night dancing class, which met at the Playhouse during the winter. The German Ambassador and Countess von Bernstorff expected to sail for Germany on May 7. Russian Official Visiting Here. --- Baron Schlippenbach, Russian consul general in New York, is spending a short time at the Shoreham. --- Judge and Mrs. Jacob M. Dickinson have arrived in Washington, and are at the Grafton. They have with them Mrs. Dickinson's niece, Miss Overton. --- Mrs. Huntington Wilson has returned from Panama. --- Mrs. Clarence Edwards and her daughter, Miss Bessie Edwards, will go to New York next week, where Miss Edwards will enter school at Dobbs Ferry. Mrs. Edwards will return the last of the week. --- Miss Frances Lippitt, who has been in Panama, will return to Washington today. --- Mrs. Rumsay, of Buffalo, who has been visiting Mr. and Mrs. William Barrett Ridgely, returned to her home last night. --- Miss Beatrice Clover, younger daughter of Admiral and Mrs. Clover, who is a student at St. Timothy's Hall, Catonsville, Md., will come to Washington Saturday to spend ten days. --- To Attend Kinemacolor Durbar. --- Mrs. Bryce, wife of the British Ambassador, will be among the guests in the box of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Henry Butler at the kinemacolor durbar to be given next Monday and Tuesday afternoons at the Belasco for the benefit of the House of Mercy. Others who will have boxes are Mrs. Slater, Mrs. Cleveland Perkins, Mrs. Charles Boughton Wood, Admiral and Mrs. Brownson, Col. and Mrs. Robert M. Thompson, Mrs. Norman Williams, Mrs. George McLanahan, Mrs. John Hays Hammond, and Mrs. Spalding. Mrs. Isaac Mann will be hostess to a children's party. --- Mr. Harrison Irwin, who is in his senior year at Princeton, is spending a short vacation with his parents, Commander and Mrs. William Manning Irwin at their home in Nineteenth street. --- A number of farewell hospitalities have I been planned for Capt. and Mrs. William B. Caperton and Miss Marguerite Caperton, who will leave Washington the last of this month for Newport, Capt. Caperton's new post. Miss Caperton will go to Annapolis next week to attend the hop at the Naval Academy on April l2. --- Mrs. Barbour Walker will entertain the final meeting of the year of the Washington Society of the Archaeological Institute of America, at the National Cathedral School, Mount St. Albans, on Monday evening, April 8, at 8:30 o'clock. The lecturer will be Prof. Francis G. Allinson, of Brown University. --- Club Tea Is Postponed. --- The tea usually given every week by the Congressional Club will be omitted this week, on account of Good Friday. The musical program which was to have been given this week will be given Friday of next week. --- Mrs. F. B. Moran and Mrs. John M. Hudgins have returned to Washington from the South, and are at the Shoreham. --- Gen. and Mrs. Crosby P. Miller have left the Soldiers Home, and will be at the Brighton during April. --- Dr. and Mrs. H. G. Fuller are at the Wolcott, New York, for a few days. --- Mr. and Mrs. Arthur B. Smith have announced the engagement of their daughter, Minnie Clark, and Mr. Roland E. Abbott. The marriage will take place on Wednesday, April 10, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, at Woodridge, D. C. The Rev. David Reed, of Riverdale, Md., will officiate. --- Mr. and Mrs. Leopold Brodie, of London, are at the Shoreham for a short stay. --- An interesting wedding took place yesterday morning at 11:30 o'clock at the Church of the Covenant, when Miss Vera Ione Murray, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Murray, of 2011 Nichols avenue, Anacostia, became the bride of Mr. George H. Covert. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Charles Wood, pastor of the church. There were present only the members of the two families and a few intimate friends. There were no attendants. Mr. and Mrs. Covert left Washington immediately after the ceremony for Atlantic City, where they will remain until the middle of April. Mrs. Covert is well known among musicians, and is a member of the Rubenstein Club. Mr. Covert is a former resident of Racine, Wis. --- Invitations have been sent out by Mr. and Mrs. Clarence E. N. Lancaster, of Roxbury, Mass., for the marriage of their daughter, Annie Cole, to Mr. George Roland McEldowney, of Chicago, on the evening of April 10, at Roxbury. Miss Lancaster's mother was Miss H. P. Worthington, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Worthington, of Maryland. The bride is the great-granddaughter of Gen. Thomas Fielder Bowie, former representative of Maryland. --- Miss Musser a Bride. --- The marriage of Miss Gertrude Elizabeth Musser, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Musser, and Mr. James Emmet Taylor took place at noon yesterday, in New York Avenue Presbyterian Church. The bride was given in marriage by her father, and was attended only by Miss Ernestine Sener, of Baltimore. Mr. Norman I. Taylor was best man for his brother, and the ushers were Mr. Percy E. Taylor, Mr. Chase C. Gove, Mr. Raymond E. Horn, and Mr. Taylor Timberlake. Immediately after the ceremony, Mr. and Mrs. Taylor left Washington for a wedding trip. They will be at home after April 15.
