Contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Jerri Burket June 15, 2002 *********************************************************************** 1773 DE Probate - Peter Numbers To the Worshipfull the Justices of the Court of Orphans now sitting at Dover in and for Kent County on Delaware the third day of June in the Year of our Lord One thousand seven Hundred & seventy three ~ The Petition of Michael Numbers eldest son of & Representative of Peter Numbers late of Duck Creek Hundred in Kent County aforesaid yeoman deceased. Being twenty one years of Age ~ most humbly sheweth That the said Peter Numbers was seized in his Demesne as of Fee, of and in Certain lands and tenements situate in the Hundred and County aforesaid, and being so thereof seized died Intestate leaving a widow and sundry children Viz.. Mary Numbers the widow who is since Intermarried with a certain Nicholas Lynch, Jacob Numbers, Elizabeth Numbers who is since intermarried with Robert Greenly, Ann Numbers, John Numbers, Sarah Numbers, Mary Numbers, Susannah Numbers and your Petitioner, all living. And wheeas our Petitioner on the --- day of May last at an orphans court then held, Petitioned to sd. Court and prayed that they would appoing five freeholders to go upon View & Divide the lands and tenements afrd. To and among your Petitioner & the other Representatives of the sd. Decd. But there was some mistake made in the Proceedings of the Court Relative to the same; which renders your Petitioner to the Necessity of Exhibited a second Petition for the Division afsd. Now your Petitioner therefore humbly prays your worships would be pleased to appoint five freeholders to go upon View & Divide the lands and Tenements afsd. To and among your Petitioner and the other heirs & legal Representatives of the sd. Decd. According to an Act of General assembly of this Government in such cases made & provided. And your Petitioner as in duty Bound shall every pray.
