Wilmington Morning News, June 9, 1986
   Samuel L. McAllister, 83, of 4930 Old Capitol Trail, died of cancer Monday 
in Christiana Hospital.
   Mr. McAllister, who retired in 1968, worked for Wilmington Trust Co., for 50 
years.  He began his banking career in 1918 as a bookkeeper at the office at 
Second and Market streets.
   He was a member, secretary-treasurer, and former grand master of Independent 
Order of Odd Fellows Fairfax Lodge 8, and a past grand master of the Grand 
Lodge of Delaware.
   He was a member of Armstrong Lodge 26 AF&AM, and a charter member and a past 
president of the Delaware Rifle and Pistol Club.  He was a lifelong member of 
the National Rifle Association.
   He is survived wife, Belle R.; two grandchildren and two great-
greatgrandchildren.  His daughter, Eileen M. Horn, died in 1980.
   Services will be at 11:45a.m. Thursday in the chapel at Gracelawn Memorial 
Park, North DuPont Highway, New Castle, with burial in the adjoining memorial 
park.  Friends may call at McCrery Memorial Chapel, Kirkwood Highway and Duncan 
Road, Wednesday after 7 p.m.

Additional Comments:
Mr. McAllister was the son of John C. McAllister and Lola Sherwood natives of 
Delaware.  His wife was Isabelle Elizabeth Rogers native of Pennsylvania
