Mr. Chipman was about 68 years old and had only recently sold his farm located at Lincoln and moved in with his son for a temporary home. He had no trouble of any kind; was a man of upright habits, and very honorable in all his dealings with all persons; and, for this reason there can be no suicide motives. He has been more or less subject to vertigo, and it is probable that while standing on this bridge he was attacked with this, and fell for- ward into the shallow water, where h drowned before recovering conscious- ness; or, perhaps in falling he stunned himself so tht he drowned before re- covery. Mr. Chipman at one time was a buyer of fruit and a land agent in the town of Milford; he came here in the early eighties. The Coroner held an inquest on Sat- urday, and found a verdict. His funeral was held on Monday af- ternoon from the home of his son, and interment made at Barratt's Chapel.
