Go straight at curve, proceed 1.5 miles. After passing the 2nd road to the left, immediately take the next dirt road to the right, .4 miles to dead end. The survey was taken from the front row to the back. At the end of each row, we returned to the fence to begin the next row. There are at least eight graves of veterans from various wars buried in the Carlton. The data contained in "other data" of the veterans includes information from the WPA list of veterans graves, (including grave number) which they made in 1940-1941. There are a number of unmarked graves, and some with unreadable funeral home markers. The oldest birth date located was 1827 (William T. Carlton), while the oldest death date was 1872 (Annie Adella Carlton). This cemetery is sometimes referred to as "The Old Sykes Cemetery". No research has been done to determine the history of this property. It is well maintained.
