NOTES FOR THE 1830 ALACHUA COUNTY, FLORIDA CENSUS

1. Stamped page # 53 A, at the bottom of the HEADS OF FAMILIES header, 
handwritten:
"Amount of pages brought forward". This page is a grand total page for the 
entire county.

2. Stamped page # 53 A and B, handwritten below the page totals for the 15 pages 
and across both pages:
"The number of persons within my division comprising the county of Alachua and 
consisting of the numbers of one hundred and seventy two white males under five 
years of age; one hundred and twenty one between five and ten; eighty nine 
between ten and fifteen; fifty four between fifteen and twenty; two hundred and 
ten between twenty and thirty; one hundred and forty nine between thirty and 
forty; fifty three between forty & fifty; twenty eight between fifty & sixty; 
eighteen between sixty & seventy; six between seventy & eighty; and one between 
eighty & ninety __ Also of white females below the age of five years one hundred 
sixty eight, between five and ten one hundred seven; eighty nine between ten & 
fifteen; Sixty one between fifteen & twenty; One hundred & thirty four between 
twenty & thirty; Seventy one between thirty & forty; thirty between forty & 
fifty; Nineteen between fifty & Sixty; eight between sixty & Seventy; and four 
between Seventy and eighty; __ Also of eighty six Male Slaves under ten years of 
age, eighty seven between ten & twenty four; seventy four between twenty four & 
thirty six; Thirty six between thirty six & fifty five; and twelve between fifty 
five & a hundred; __ Also (one) free colored males under ten years of age, six 
between ten & twenty four; two between twenty four & thirty six; one between 
thirty six & fifty five; and one between fifty five and a hundred __ Also of one 
Colored female under ten; one between ten & twenty four, one between twenty four 
and thirty six; and one between thirty six and fifty five; making a total amount 
of two thousand two hundred, and four, of which two white females are deaf and 
dumb, two white males are aliens, and two negro slaves are blind. As appears in 
the foregoing Schedule. Subscribed by me this 27th day of November 1830. Joseph

We hereby Certify that a Correct Copy of the above Schedule, signed by the said 
Joseph B. Lancaster, has been set up at two of the most public places within the 
division, open to the inspection of all concerned.
