Territory of Florida
County of Alachua      This Indenture made June the first in the year of our 
Lord One thousand eight hundred and forty two ___
      Know all men by these presents that I Robert D. Bradley of the 
Territory and County Aforesaid of the one part and James Bradley of the 
same Territory & County of the second part  Witnesseth that I Robert D. 
Bradley of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of Six 
thousand four hundred and forty Dollars lawful money of the United 
States to me in hand paid at and before the Sealing and delivery of 
these presents by the said James Bradley of the second part of the 
Territory and County Aforesaid, the receipt whereof I do hereby 
Acknowledge have bargained and sold, and by these presents do bargain 
Sell and deliver unto the said James Bradley Seven Negroes, To Wit  
David, Moses, Bill, Caroline and Elizer with her two children Wiley and 
Willis,  To have and to hold the said Seven Negroes viz  David, Moses, 
Bill, Caroline, and Elizer with her two children Wiley and Willis, and 
unto the said James Bradley his heirs Executors, Administrators and 
Assigns to them and to their only proper use and behoof forever,  And I 
the said Robert D. Bradley my heirs Executors and Administrators, to 
the said Bargained Premises, unto the said James Bradley his heirs, 
executors, Administrators and Assigns from & against all and every 
person or persons whosoever, shall and will Warrant and forever defend 
by these presents. ___
      Now the Condition of the above Mortgage is such that if the said 
Robert D. Bradley by himself or his heirs, executors, Administrators 
and Assigns, shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said 
James Bradley his heirs, executors, Administrators and Assigns the sum 
of Six thousand four hundred and forty Dollars lawful money of the 
United States by the first day of January Eighteen hundred three, then 
this Mortgage to be Null and void otherwise to remain in full force and 
virtue. ___
            In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the 
date first above written

County of Alachua      Richard L. Garrison personally appeared before me Isaac Garrison one of the 
Justices of the Peace in & for the County Aforesaid and made Oath in due form of Law, that he was present 
at the signing Sealing, and delivery of the Within Mortgage that he saw Robert D. Bradley Sign the within 
instrument for the purposes Specified and that he saw Wm. Garrison & Joseph N. Garrison assign as 
Witnesses and that he himself Subscribed to the Within as Witness.
