Clarke, of East Florida on the one part, and Duncan L. Clinch, Colonel of the United States Army on the other part Witnesseth, That the said Clarke, for and in consideration of the sum of three thousand Dollars to him in hand paid, at and before the sealing & delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby Acknowledged, hath granted bargained Sold and conveyed and by these presents do grant, bargain sell & convey unto the said Clinch, Three thousand Acres of Land being and laying in that part of East Florida, called Alachua, situated in and about Moody's Hammock, on the road or path from Paynes Town to Ocklewaha Creek, which said tract the said Clarke bought of Domingo Fernandez, being part of a grant made to the said Fernandez, by the late Spanish Government on the Sixteenth of November eighteen hundred & seventeen, as will more fully appear by the plot and Certificate of the then Surveyor General of the said Province, hereunto annexed To have and to hold the said three thousand acres of land , unto him the said Duncan L. Clinch, his heirs and assigns, together with all and Singular the rights, members & Appurtenances to the same in any manner belonging, to his and their proper use and behoof, forever and in fee simple ___ And the said George I.F. Clarke, for hinself his heirs executors and Administrators, the said bargained premises unto the said Duncan L. Clinch, his heirs and Assigns, will Warrant & forever defend, the right and title thereof against himself and themselves, and against the claim of all other person or persons whatsoever __ In Witness whereof the said Clarke hath hereunto set his hand & seal the day and year above written ___ Signed Sealed & delivered George I.F. Wayne Judge of the sixth Circuit Court of the United States of America in and for the District of Georgia Charles S. Henry to me well known, who being by be duly Sworn did depose and say, that he was present and did see the said George I.F. Clarke whose signature is to the foregoing annexed Deed, sign, seal, & deliver the same for the purposes therein mentioned, and that he together with one Joseph Crews whose Signature are affixed to the foregoing Deed, did sign their names as witnesses thereto. ___ Charles S. Wayne, before whom the annexed & foregoing Deposition of Charles S.
