April 4th 1839 Received from Archibald McNeill of Alachua County the sum of Two hundred Dollars and Ten Cents being in full for the East half of south West quarter, and West half of South east quarter of Section Number Eighteen in Township Number eight of Range Number Nineteen South and East containing each Eighty Acres and four hundredths at One Dollar and twenty five Cents per Acre, and for which tracts or such portion these of as shall have been Ascertained, not to be claimed by a valid right of preemption, under the Act of twenty Second of June eighteen hundred & thirty eight, a patent will be issued after the twenty second June eighteen hundred & forty and this receipt will entitle the purchaser or assignee to a return of the purchase money without interest of the Land claimed by such Preemption right, or of the whole tract at his option ___ $200.10 John C. Clelland Receiver This Indenture made the thirtieth day of June One thousand eight hundred & forty, Between Archibald McNeill of the County of Alachua and Territory of Florida and his Wife Jemima of the first part and John S. Taylor of the County & Territory aforesaid of the second part, Witnesseth that the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of Two hundred Dollars to them in hand well and truly paid, at and before the ensealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby Acknowledged, have granted bargained Sold and Conveyed, and by these presents Do grant, bargain, Sell and Convey unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, all those certain tracts or parcels of Land Situated lying and being in the County & Territory Aforesaid, and known and discribed in the Official plat of the survey returned to the general Land Office As the East half of the south West quarter, and the west half of the south east quarter of Section Number eighteen, Township Eight of Range Number Nineteen south and East __ Together with all and Singular the tenements hereditaments and Appurtenances, whatsoever to the same belonging, or in any wise appertaining and the remission and remissions, remainder and remainders, rents issues & profits thereof, and all the estate, rights, titles, interest, Dower and right of Dower, property, claim or demand in Law or equity whatsoever of the party of the first part of in or to the said premises and every part thereof to have & to hold the said Land and all and singular other the premises above mentioned, and every part and parcel thereof with the Appurtenances unto the said party of the second part, his heirs & assigns, to the only proper use and behoof of the said party of the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever And the said party of the first part, for themselves their heirs and assigns, the said premises and every part thereof , against themselves and their heirs, and against every other person or persons whomsoever to the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns, shall and will Warrant and forever defend by these presents __ In Witness whereof the said parties of the first part have hereunto Set their hands & seals the day & year first above written __ Signed, Sealed and delivered Archibald McNeill (L.
