Know all men by these presents that I Lewis Mattair of the County of Columbia and Territory of Florida in 
consideration of the sum of Twelve hundred Dollars in lawful money of the United States to me in hand 
paid by Bennett M. Dell of Alachua County & Territory  Aforesaid  the receipt whereof I hereby 
Acknowledge & do by these presents give grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the said Bennett M. Dell his 
heirs and Assigns a certain parcel of Land  situate in the County of Alachua and Territory Aforesaid and 
described on the Maps in the Land Office at St. Augustine as the West half of the North east quarter of 
Section twenty three and the East half  of the South East quarter of Section twenty three __ And the North 
East quarter  and the East half  of the North West quarter of Section twenty six and the West half of the 
North East quarter of Section twenty seven, Also the East half of the east half of the North West quarter of 
Section twenty seven, to be divided North & South all in Range Eighteen Township Seven South and East 
and containing in all Five hundred and twenty Acres more or less together with all the privileges and 
appurtenances to the said Land in any wise appertaining & belonging   To have and to hold the above 
granted premises to the said Bennett M. Dell his heirs and Assigns and their use and behoof forever,  And I 
the said Lewis Mattair for myself my heirs Executors and Administrators do covenant with the said Bennett 
M. Dell, that I am lawfully seizen  in fee of the afore granted premises, that they are free from all 
incumberances that I have good rights to sell and convey the same to the said Bennett M. Dell, and that I 
will and my heirs executors and Administrators shall warrant and defend the same to the said Bennett M. 
Dell his heirs and assigns forever against the lawful demands of all persons
                In Testimony Whereof  I the said Lewis Mattair have hereunto set my hand & Seal this 
fifth day of January AD 1841

Know all men by these presents that I Louisa Mattair wife of Lewis Mattair Grantor in the above Deed for 
the Conveyance of Real Estate to Bennett M. Dell his heirs and assigns forever bearing date the fifth day of 
January AD 1841 do hereby renounce relinquish  and release to the grantee therein named all my right of 
Dower in and to the lands, tenements & therein conveyed
                In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand & Seal this fifth day of January AD 
1841

Columbia County                I Alexander Martin Judge of the County Court in and for the County Aforesaid 
do hereby certify that Louisa Mattair wife of Lewis Mattair Grantor in the annexed Deed for the 
Conveyance of real Estate to Bennett M. Dell dated the fifth day of January AD 1841 personally appeared 
before me in my County Aforesaid and being examined by me privately and apart from her said Husband 
and hearing the said Deed fully explained to her she Acknowledged that she signed and sealed the above 
renunciation relinquishment and release of Dower to the Grantee therein named and declared that she had 
done the same freely voluntarily and without any Compulsion Constraint Apprehension or fear of and or 
from her said Husband and that she wished not to retract it
                Given under my hand & Seal this sixth day of Jan'y AD 1841
