All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/fl/flfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Jim Powell, http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00030.html#0007445 April 1999 "Transcribed by Jim Powell Jr from Records provided by Buddy Irby, Alachua County Clerk of the Court's Office" Page 316-317 Know all men by these presents, that I William Marvin of Key West in the Territory of Florida, for and in consideration of the sum of fifteen hundred Dollars to me in hand paid by Leigh Read of Leon County in said Territory the receipt whereof, I do hereby confess & Acknowledge have granted, bargained, Sold, Aliened, and conveyed, and by these presents Do grant, bargain, sell, Alien, and convey, to the said Leigh Read and to his heirs and assigns forever, Fifteen hundred Acres of Land, being part and parcel of a tract of Two thousand Acres ceded by the Spanish Government to one Don Jose Simeon Sanchez as discribed in said Cession as being situate on the Santafe River, bounded on the West by Lands of Don Francisco Roman Sanchez, and on the other side by said River an exemplified copy of which Cession is herewith delivered, To have and to hold the said Lands, and appurtenances thereunto belonging to the said Leigh Read his heirs and assigns forever _ And I do hereby Covenant and gree to and with the said Leigh Read, that the said premises in his quiet and peaceable possession against any person lawfully claiming or to claim the same, I will forever Warrant and defend. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand seal this Twelfth day of March, Eighteen Hundred and thirty nine, at the City of Tallahassee Signed Sealed & delivered Wm.
