All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/fl/flfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Jim Powell, http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00030.html#0007445 April 1999 "Transcribed by Jim Powell Jr from Records provided by Buddy Irby, Alachua County Clerk of the Court's Office" Page 314-315 Know all men by these presents, that I William Marvin of Key West in the Territory of Florida for and in consideration of the Sum of three thousand five hundred Dollars the receipt whereof I do hereby Acknowledge, have granted, bargained, sold, aliened, and conveyed, and by these presents Do grant, bargain, sell, alien, and convey to Leigh Read of Leon County in the Territory of Florida his heirs and Assigns forever, Three thousand five hundred Acres of Land being part and parcel of a tract of four thousand Acres, Ceded by the Spanish Government to one Don Francisco Roman Sanchez, and is discribed in said Cession, as being situate about ten miles to the Westward of the Alachua Road leading to St. Marys, and is bounded on the North by the River Santafe, and on the other sides by Vacant Lands, an exemplified Copy of which Cession is herewith delivered To have and to hold the said Lands, and the Appurtenances, thereunto belonging to the said Leigh Read his heirs and Assigns forever ___ And I do hereby covenant and agree to and with the said Leigh Read, that the said lands in the quiet and peaceable possession of him the said Leigh Read, against all persons lawfully claiming or to claim the same I will forever Warrant and defend ___ In Witness whereof I do hereunto Set my hand and Seal this Twelfth day of March eighteen hundred and thirty nine Signed, Sealed & delivered William Marvin (seal) in presence of I.
