In Book 34, starting at page 507, in the Alachua County Records, State of Florida is the 
following deed: (These Wrights are my maternal g-g-grandparents)


"STATE OF FLORIDA, ALACHUA COUNTY:
"KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS:
"That we S. JOSHUA WRIGHT and WILLIE A. WRIGHT his wife of the aforesaid County and State,
 for and in consideration of the sum of SIXTEEN HUNDRED DOLLARS to us in hand paid by E. 
C. GORDON of the County of ________________ in the State of Alabama the receipt whereof 
we do hereby acknowledge, have granted, bargained, sold and conveyed, and by these 
Presents, do grant, bargain sell and convey unto him the said E. C. GORDON all that 
certain lot, piece, tract or parcel of land, situated, lying and being in the County of 
Alachua, State of Florida, particularly known and described as follows, to wit:


The north east quarter of Section Sixteen in Township Five South of Range Seventeen East
containing my estimation ONE HUNDRED & FIFTY-NINE 44/00 acres of land, more or less. 
Together with all and singular the tenements, hereditaments and appurtenances to the 
same belonging or in anywise appertaining.


TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the same unto him the said E. C. GORDON and to his heirs, executors, 
administrators and assigns, in fee simple absolute. And we, the said S. JOSHUA WRIGHT and 
WILLIE A. WRIGHT containing my estimation ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY-NINE 44/100 acres of land,
more or less. Together with all and singular the tenements, hereditaments and 
appurtenances to the same belonging or in anywise appertaining.


TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the same unto him the said E. C. GORDON and to his heirs, executors, 
administrators and assigns, in fee simple absolute. And we, the said S. JOSHUA WRIGHT and 
WILLIE A. WRIGHT do hereby covenant and agree to and with the said E. C. GORDON that we 
are lawfully seized in fee of the property herein and hereby conveyed, and that we have 
good and lawfull right to sell and convey the same; that the same is free from all 
encumbrances of any kind whatsoever, and that we will and our heirs, executors and 
administrators, shall and will forever warrant and defend the same unto him the said 
E.C. GORDON and to his heirs, executors and administrators and assigns, against the 
lawful claims and demands of any and all persons whomsoever, now claiming or hereafter 
to claim the same.


IN WITNESS WHEREOF we have hereunto set our hands and affixed our seals on this 24th day 
of June, 1891.

I hereby certify that on this 24th day of June, 1891, before me personally appeared, 
MRS. WILLIE A. WRIGHT, wife of S. JOSHUA WRIGHT, the grantor in the foregoing conveyance,
who being first duly questioned and examined by me, separate and apart from her husband,
says and acknowledges before me that she did sign the said deed of Conveyance for the 
purpose of releasing, relinquishing and renouncing all of her right of Dower in and to 
the land in said Deed described, and that said Relinquishment and Renunciation of Dower
was done and made by her freely and voluntarily, and without any compulsion, constraint,
apprehension or fear of or from her said husband.
