On the muster roll for September and October, 1861 (last on which borne), he is accounted for as present, and a regimental return for the month of June, 1862, carries his name under the heading of absent enlisted men accounted for. He is shown to have been discharged August 26, 1862, at Harrison Ferry, Tennessee, on surgeon's certificate of disability. McCain The Adjutant General ******************************************************************************* October 22, 1915 Mrs. Mollie Anderson, Archer, Florida Dear Madam: Your application for pension has been considered by the State Board of Pensions and I have been directed by them to advise you that there is a record, from the Confederate records at Washington, relative to your husband's service in Co. B 10th, S. C. Infantry in this Office and same shows that your husband was discharged August 26th, 1862, at Harrison Ferry, Tenn., on Surgeon's certificate of disability. You state in your application that your husband was discharged at the Surrender and your two witnesses, D. W. Tompkins and W. H. Anderson, of Adrian, S. C., both claim the same, however they state he was discharged near Richmond, Va., while Tompkins claims that he was discharged at Rockingham, N. C., and Anderson claims that he was discharged at Wilmington, N. C. The Board would like affidavits from your witnesses as to your husbands service after he was discharged and reinlisted [sic] and giving date of the last time that they actually saw him before the Surrender. As before said your witnesses claim that he was discharged at the surrender but it appears that they and also your Husband were all members of the same company but were discharged at differents [sic] points. The Board would like to have evidence so as to reconcile this evidence now at hand. Yours very respectfully, Secretary State Board of Pensions ******************************************************************************* State of South Carolina County of Horry Personally appeared before me J.
