D. One Thousand Nine Hundred and 16, personally appeared before me, a Justice of the Peace in and for the County and State aforesaid Mrs. Tersey E. Wagner a resident of Hawthorne County of Alachua State of Florida, who being duly sworn according to law, makes the following declaration in order to obtain a pension under the provisions of Chapter 6424, Laws of Florida, approved June 4th, 1913. That she is the widow of Benjamin Troy Beckham who was enlisted under the name of ____ on the ____ day of ____, 186_, in Company Sec. Fla. Cavalry Regiment of the State of Florida and who was honorably discharged at ____, 186_, on account of ____. That she was lawfully married to the said Benjamin Troy Beckham under the name of Miss Tersey E. Tillman in the County of Alachua, State of Florida on the 11th day of February, 1858, and that she was not divorced from him and that she has not remarried since his death, which occurred on the 1st day of Oct., 1867, in the County of Alachua State of Fla. That she is a resident of Alachua County, Florida, and has continuously resided in the State of Florida since the ____ day of ____ 1857. That she does not own property, including real estate, personal property, mortgages or other collateral securities, stocks or bonds in this or any other State to exceed in value the sum of Five Thousand Dollars. That the following is a true and correct statement of all property owned by me in this or any other State: Nothing That she has heretofore been granted a pension from the State of Florida under Certificate No. ____. Fla. Cavalry Regiment of the State of Florida, which organization was regularly mustered into the service of the Confederate States of America; that he knows of his own personal knowledge that Benjamin Troy Beckham enlisted in Company F Sec. Fla. Cavalry Regiment of the State of Fla. at Gainesville, in the State of Florida. I know personally of the above stated service, because I served with Benj. T. Beckham in Company F Regiment ____ of the State of Florida, and was HONORABLY DISCHARGED at Baldwin, in the State of Fla., on the ____ day of ____, 186_, by reason of close of war and I did not desert the Confederate States service nor take the oath of allegiance to the United States before the close of the War. Wagener for a pension under the Laws of Florida, was investigated by us; that we are satisfied that the applicant does not own property to exceed the value of $5,000, and that the representation made in the petition and affidavits are true and that a pension should be granted to the applicant. Dear Madam: Upon examination of your application for pension which was filed in the Pension Department on the 22nd inst., I note that you are basing your claim for pension upon the service of your husband B. T. Beckham, whom you state has been dead since 1867. You fail to mention in your claim that you have since married Mr. Wagener, and of course the Board will have to be advised relative to this second marriage. I will suggest that you furnish two or more affidavits showing your marriage to Mr. Wagener, and stating whether or not he is still living. This information for the benefit of the State Pension Board. Beckham, private, 2d Regiment Florida Cavalry, C.S.A., enlisted July 29, 1863, and on the roll for June 30, 1864, last on file, is reported present. The prisoner of war records show him surrendered at Baldwin, Fla., by Maj. Gen. Sam Jones, in compliance with terms of a Military Convention made April 26, 1865, and that he was paroled at Baldwin, East Florida, May 17, 1865. No later record found. H. T.
