T. York's Company of 7th Regiment from the State of Florida, and served in said Company; that while so serving and in the legitimate discharge of duty he was on the 2nd day of July, 1864 at Kenesaw, GA wounded by a minnie ball in the neck, and on the 4th day of December, 1864 at Stewarts Creek, TN wounded by a minnie ball in both legs below knee, and that as a direct result of said wound, he is now unable to perform manual labor; that he is not a pensioner of any other State, or of the United States; that he has resided continuously the last 30 years in the State of Florida, and respectfully makes this claim for the pension authorized by the Act approved February 16, 1885, and amended June 7, 1887. Norman, who is to me personally well known to be the man above represented and find that he has had a gunshot wound penetrating and injuring the bones of the spine just between shoulders and coming out over shoulder six inches from point of entrance resulting directly in the loss of power in muscles of right shoulder and arm. STATE OF FLORIDA,} COUNTY OF BRADFORD} We, the Board of County Commissioners of said county do certify that we have carefully investigated the statements made in the within affidavits, and are satisified by evidence produced before us, that the within described applicant is the veritable Isaac N. Norman who enlisted and served in Captain H. York's Company, 7th Regiment from the State of Florida; that he is, by reason of wounds received in line of duty, while so serving, unable to perform manual labor; that he is a citizen of this county, has resided in this State continuously for the last 30 years, and that he is not receiving a pension from any other State, or from the United States. York's Company, 7th Florida Regiment Filed in Adjutant General's Office Nov 16, 1888 Not allowed July 13/89 ******************************************************************************************* SOLDIER'S APPLICATION FOR PENSION STATE OF FLORIDA,} COUNTY OF BRADFORD} On this 22nd day of October, 1901, personally appeared before me, Clerk of the Circuit Court in and for said county and State, I. N. Norman who being by me duly sworn, declares he is the identical person who enlisted on or about the ____ day of May, 1862, in Captain R. Thomas and subsequently Captain York's Company, County of Bradford, in the State of Florida, and that while in actual service in said Company "A" 7th Florida Infantry Regiment, of the State of Florida, and in line of duty as such soldier, near Marietta, State of Georgia, on or about the 2nd day of July, 1864, and was honorably discharged at the expiration of my service on the ____ day of May, 1865 in Bradford county, State of Florida. I was first wounded near Marietta, Georgia July 2, 1864, the ball striking me on the left side of my neck; ball extracted near the spinal cord particularly disabling my left shoulder. Then I was again wounded at Steward's Creek near Murfreesboro, TN by misc. ball striking my left leg just below knee joint, passing through and striking my right leg just below knee joint and passing through, affecting my left leg mostly, I am now sixty one years old, and that as the direct result of said injuries, thus received in line of duty during the war, I am now unable to gain a livelihood by manual labor; that I have continuously since January 1, 1885, been a citizen of Florida; that neither I, nor my wife, nor both combined, own real and personal property to the value of $800 in this or any other State, and have not purposely disposed of our property for the purpose of availing ourselves of the provisions of the pension laws of Florida; that I am not otherwise enabled, or in a position to earn, and have no income from any source sufficient for a livelihood by manual labor, and that I never deserted the Confederate service, and that I receive a pension from no other source. Norman, the above applicant for pension during the Civil War of 1861-1865, that we served with him in Roland Thomas' Company "A", 7th Florida Inf. Reg., and know of our own knowledge that he did receive the injuries set forth in the above application at the time and place claimed, and that the disability therefrom claimed to exist does exist, and that he never deserted the Confederate Army. Norman, who is personally know to us to be the person above applying for a pension under the laws of Florida, and find he has bullet wound through neck, making partial stiffness of neck muscles. Also, bullet wound in both legs just below knee joint making partial paralysis of left leg - ball passed through both legs - he is not able to do more than 1/4 able man's work on account of said wounds.
