C. ******************************************************************************************* July 24th, 1928 Mr. Percy W. Moss, El Jobean, Florida Dear Sir: In looking over your application for pension, I note that you claim to have been in this State since February 1st, 1924, and the law requires an applicant for pension to have been a continuous bona fide citizen of Florida for eight consecutive years prior to filing application for pension. You are, therefore, not eligible to pension under the present law as you will see from the enclosed copy of the pension law. I am very sorry that this is the case, but the law is explicit in its requirement that an applicant for pension be a continuous bona fide citizen and resident of the State of Florida for eight years prior to filing application for pension and leaves no discretion with the Pension Board in matters of this kind. I might mention your proof of service has not been submitted as required by law, however, if you wish to go ahead and establish your service, I shall be very glad to assist you in any way that I may be able. Yours very truly, Secretary, Pension Board /B ******************************************************************************************* Application No. 23328 Claim For Pension By Percy W.
