My dear sir: As per our understanding, I inclose Mr. Warnock’s certificate to the effect that my first pension application was approved and forwarded last July, but became lost in the mail. You remember, we talked this matter over and you was, on receipt of this certificate, to make an effort to get the Board to allow my pay from the time it should have been received there. We were not advised that it had not been received till some time this Spring, as we laid the delay to the fact that the Board was behind with its work. Will be glad if you can visit Florid (sic) City again during the campaign, and assure you of my hearty support. I was about to overlook that I expect to go to the re-union the 1st of June, and am relying on my pension to pay expenses. With kind regards, Very truly yours, E.
