D. One Thousand Nine Hundred and nineteen, personally appeared before me, a notary public in and for the County and State aforesaid Abbigail [sic] Scarborough a resident of Green Cove Springs County of Clay State of Florida, who being duly sworn according to law, makes the following declaration in order to obtain a pension under the provisions of Chapter 7259, Laws of Florida, approved June 7 1917. That she is the lawful widow of J. F. L. Scarborough who enlisted under the name of J. F. L. Scarborough on the 7th day of May, 1861, in Company "H", 14th Georgia Regiment of the State of Georgia and who was honorably discharged at Appotamox [sic], Virginia, April 9th, 1865. That she was lawfully married to the said J. F. L. Scarborough under the name of Abbigail Dwyer in the County of Clay State of Florida on the 22nd Day of June, 1916, and that she was not divorced from him before nor has she remarried since his death, which occurred on the ____ day of March, 1919, in the county of ____, State of Georgia. That she is a resident of Clay County, Florida, and has continuously resided in the State of Florida since the 18th day of April 1857. That she was heretofore granted a pension from the State of Florida under Certificate No. ____. That she is not a pensioner of any other State. J. Hall of Green Cove Springs, County of Clay, State of Florida, who, being duly sworn according to law, declares that he is the identical person who enlisted at Lawrence County in the State of Georgia on the ____ day of ____, in Company H, 14th Georgia Regiment of the State of Georgia, which organization was regularly mustered into the service of the Confederate States of America; that he knows of his own personal knowledge that J. F. L. Scarborough enlisted in Company H, 14th Georgia Regiment of the State of Georgia at Dublin, in the State of Georgia, on the 7th day of May, 1861; that he served faithfully in the said organization until the 25th day of March, 1865; when he was HONORABLY DISCHARGED on account of Lee's surrender, at Appomatox [sic] in the State of Virginia, and did not desert the Confederate States service nor take the oath of allegiance to the Untied States before the close of the War. Affiant was captured March 25, 1865 and J. F. L. Scarborough remained with the Regiment until surrender. I know personally of the above stated service, because I served with J. F. L. Scarborough in Company H Regiment 14th of the State of Georgia, and was HONORABLY DISCHARGED At Point Lookout, in the State of Maryland, on the 7th day of July, 1865, by reason of Army had surrendered, and I did not desert the Confederate States service nor take the oath of allegiance to the United States before the close of the War. Yopp of Atlanta County of Fulton, State of Georgia, who, being duly sworn according to law, declares that he is the identical person who enlisted at Dublin in the State of Ga. on the ____ day of June 1861, in Company H 14th Ga. Regiment of the State of Ga., which organization was regularly mustered into the service of the Confederate States Army and that he knows of his own personal knowledge that J. F. L. Other records show that he was cashiered Aug. 31, 1863. Also show that Thomas M. Yopp, pvt. said Co. & Regt. was paid at Richmond, Va., for monthly pay & commutation for clothing from Oct. 17, 1863 to Apr. 2, 1864, and was transferred to the C.S. Navy to take effect Apr. 4, 1864. No later record found. A statement of service of this man & org. was furnished the Ga. Pension Office Nov. 2, 1914. P. C.
