We believe in only one true and living God – that there is a Trinity of persons in the Godhead, the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost, and yet there are not three but one God. 2nd. We believe that the scriptures of the old and new Testaments are the word of God and the only rule of Faith and Practice. 3rd. We believe in the fall of Adam and the imputation of his sin to his posterity in the corruption of human nature and impotency of man to recover himself by his own free will and ability. 4th. We believe in the everlasting love of God to his people and that there was a covenant of redeeming grace made between the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost before the world began in which their salvation is sincere and that they are thereby redeemed. 5th. We believe that sinners are justified in the sight of God only by the Righteousness of Christ imprinted in them. 6th We believe all those who are called by the spirit, regenerated and converted and sanctified will be so supported by the grace and power of God as to persevere in a divine life and that none of them will be finally lost. 7th. We believe that God works on the fruits of Faith and follow after justification and that they only justify as in the sight of men and angels and on evidence of our gracious state. 8th. We believe that there will be a resurrection of the dead and a general judgement and that the happiness of righteousness and the punishment of the wicked will be eternal, and as for gospel orders: (1) We believe that the venerable church is a congregation of faithful persons who have gained Christian Fellowship with each other and have given themselves up to the Lord and to one another, and have agreed to keep up a Godly discipline agreeable to the rules of the gospel. (2) We believe that Jesus Christ is the great head of the church and only law given, and that the government is with the bodily and is the privilege of each individual, and the discipline of the church is intended for the reclaiming of those Christian’s who may be disorderly either in faith or practice and must be kept up for God’s Glory and the peace of the churches. (3) We believe that water baptism and the Lords Supper are ordinances of the Lord and are to be continued until his Second Coming. Rules of Decorum 1st. We believe it the duty of every male member of this church to attend monthly conference, therefore, if any brother fail to attend for the first time he may be admonished, for the second time he may be reproved and for the third time in succession he may be cited to give stated feelings to the church. 2nd. When in Conference no brother shall vacate his seat without leave of the Moderator. 3rd. When a brother intends to speak of any matter in debate he shall not be interrupted unless he departs from the subject and any brother so interrupting shall be immediately reproved by the Moderator and no one shall speak more than three times to the same subject on the same day without leave of the Moderator. 4th. It shall be the duty of the church to call a pastor every year. 5th If the pastor is present he shall be the Moderator with the Liberty to call on any brother present to fill the chair with all the authorities of the same. If the pastor is absent the church may appoint a Moderator Protem. 6th Every move and second by the members of the church command the attention of the conference – The last motion made in order to the first disposed of. 7th A majority shall decide in all questions of business before the Conference except in such cases as true fellowship or when the act of the majority will affect the consciences of the minority in which case there shall be a unanimous voice of the conference present. 8th When charges are preferred against a member and a member while under the charge of the church shall not be admitted to communion. 9th It shall be the duty of the Clerk of the Church to read the decorum at the opening of every quarterly Conference and the Church Covenant every six months and oftener if requested that no member may plead a want of knowledge thereof. 10th Before the conference adjourns the minutes shall be read and approved and signed by the Clerk in behalf of the Church. 11th The Treasurer shall have charge of all church funds but it is to be at the control of the Conference when called for. 12th We believe it to be the duty of the Deacons to attend to the temporal necessity of the poor of the church so far as the church shall enable them to do so, and to distribute her bounty according to her direction to visit the sick of the church and administer to them spiritual comfort. We believe it to be expedient for them to prepare the elements for the communion and to keep up a yearly subscription for the support of the pastor of the church and keep account of all money matters and make returns annually. 13th The Moderator shall have power to call Conferences in the recess of meeting stated and may adjourn Conferences from time to time and to such places as may be thought advisable. 14th At eleven o’clock shall be the time of commencement of worship unless otherwise ordered by the church.
