WATERS, head of the Waters Realty Company, is a man of r recognized standing in the business and profession of Realtor at Miami. He and h his associates have done some big things for the city within recent years. Mr. Waters has spent most of his life in Florida and has had a widely varied and interesting experience. He was born at Stockton in Worcester County, Maryland, in 1887, and was four years of age when his parents in 1891 came to Florida and established their home on the Indian River and St. Lucie County at what is now the Town of Walton. From early boyhood he grew up there on his father’s pineapple plantation, and was educated in the public schools of St. L Lucie County. The public schools were usually held in a small one room b building, and for about six months each year. Later Mr. Waters attended a c commercial school, and in 1905 at the age of seventeen he came to Miami and was a a stenographer and clerk with the law firm of Hudson & Boggs. He also studied l law, but was never admitted to the bar and has never practiced. Leaving Miami h he removed to Savannah, Georgia, where he was private secretary to the vice p president of the Central Railway of Georgia. Then followed an active experience o on a large stock farm which he owned in South Georgia. Mr. Waters had his first experience in the real estate business in St. Lucie County, where the Waters Realty Company originated. In 1916 he returned to Miami, and in March, 1918, he left his business to go into training as a soldier at Fort Screven, Georgia. He was assigned to duty in Company C, of the Forty-third Battalion of the Twentieth Engineers. He served until honorably dis discharged in January, 1919. Since the war Mr. Waters has given his undivided attention to his gr growing business as a realtor. Mr. Waters is a member of the executive committee and for two years was s secretary of the Miami Realty Board, and is a member of the Chamber of Commerce a and a director of the Kiwanis Club. His residence is at 1024 Southwest Twelfth C Court. His wife, who died in the summer of 1921, was Miss ROBERTA CASON of M Miami. She was a daughter of Rev. J. R. CASON and a niece of Senator F. M.
