D. One Thousand Nine Hundred and 14 personally appeared before me, a Justice of the Peace in and for the County and State aforesaid Delilah Yon a resident of Wauchula County of Desoto State of Florida, who being duly sworn according to law, makes the following declaration in order to obtain a pension under the provisions of Chapter 6424, Laws of Florida, approved June 4th, 1913. That she is the widow of Nathaniel Yon who was enlisted under the name of Nathaniel Yon on or about 4 day of June, 1862, in Company H (known Lamar Artillery), 2nd Regiment of the State of South Carolina and who was honorably discharged at Greensboro, N. C. May, 1865, on account of surrender of Gen. Lee. That she was lawfully married to the said Nathaniel Yon under the name of Delilah Hair in the County Barnwell, State of South Carolina on the 8 day of September, 1861, and that she was not divorced from him and that she has not remarried since his death, which occurred on the 15 day of December, 1896, in the County of Barnwell, State of S. C. That she is a resident of Desoto County, Florida, and has continuously resided in the State of Florida since the 30 day of August 1905. That she does not own property, including real estate, personal property, mortgages or other collateral securities, stocks or bonds in this or any other State to exceed in value the sum of Five Thousand Dollars. That the following is a true and correct statement of all property owned by me in this or any other State: none That she has heretofore been granted a pension from the State of Florida under Certificate No. none. That she is not a pensioner of any other State. That her Postoffice address is Wauchula County of Desoto State of Florida. Delah Yon (Claimants must sign Christian name.) Attest: (1) Chester S. Dear Sir: Enclosed you will find Pension claim of Mrs. Delilah Yon which have bin [sic] approved by the County Commissioners, and you will also find proof of service of her husband and notice that she have [sic] lived in this State the required time to entitle her to the pension. This lady is verry [sic] old and has no income and no one to look two for a support and she is now on the county or the County pays her $5.00 per month and she works at anything that she can do to help earn a living. Matthews), private, Company H, 2d South Carolina (Lamar's) Artillery, C.S.A., enlisted December 15, year not stated, at James Island, to serve during the war. The roll of the company for November and December, 1864, last on which his name appears, shows him present. His name appears on a muster roll of officers and men paroled on terms of a military convention held April 26, 1865, with remark: "Paroled at Greensboro, N. C., ____, 1865." He was paroled at Greensboro, North Carolina, April 28, 1865, in accordance with the terms of a military convention entered into April 26, 1865. Geo. H. 2nd Regt. S. C. Artillery. Capt. W. H. Kennedy commanding said Co., known as Lamar's Artillery, and the command was surrendered at Greensboro, N. C.
