Boylston, Secty-Treas. Jacksonville, Fla., June 30th 1911 Hon A.C. Croom Tallahassee, Fla My Dear Sir, I have succeeded at last in outliving the job I have all my life held with the R R Co, simply because the Board of Directors years ago gave orders that no one over Seventy years of age shall appear on their payrolls. I am as you know Secty-Treasr of the Home here and at the last meeting again consented to take up the books of R.E. Lee Camp as Adjutant. I have also agreed to write two histories – One of the Camp and another of the Home. Have you any records of the Home to aid me? If so, please send them. None of these duties pay a cent however, and if you see anything to help me along, even if it is but a trivial sum, it will help to keep me from being a dependent. I am as active as ever. Yours truly S. C. Boylston. *********************************************************************** July 10, 1911 Mr S. C. Boyleston, Jacksonville, Florida My dear Sir:- Replying to your recent letter relative to data connected with the Confederate Home: There is no matter of record here relative to the Home that would be of any interest or assistance to you as far as I know. It was not until a few years ago that the Home becase in a sense a state institution and since then we have only paid the accounts upon the approval of the President, consequently the only data we have is in the way of paid accounts which I do not think are what you want. I am very sorry indeed that you have suffered by the order. It does look hard after a life of service to be ruled out in any such way, but it is the usual fate of those who serve corporations honestly and faithfully. I do not know of anything at present but will keep you in mind if I hear of anything that would suit you. With sincere regards, I am, Yours very truly, Comptroller *********************************************************************** 7333 APPLICATION FOR INCREASE IN PENSION.
