                   Clara Elizabeth Grimsley 

GRIMSLEY Funeral services for Clara Elizabeth Grimsley, 89, who died Friday 
March 7, 2008, will be held Tuesday at 2:00 PM from the graveside in Evergreen 
Cemetery (Gate #6) with Rev. Steve McCollum officiating. Interment in Evergreen 
Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 6-8 PM at George H. 
Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4747 Main Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206. Mrs. 
Grimsley was born in Screzen, Georgia and was a longtime resident of 
Jacksonville . She was a school teacher at North Shore Elementary where she 
taught Kindergarten for 25 years. She was formally a member of East 44th Street 
Baptist Church and a current member of First Baptist Church. Preceded in death 
by her husband of over 50 years, the late Calvin T. Grimsley. Survivors include 
her daughter, Faye Elizabeth Grimsley Wilsey (George); 2 sisters, Reba North 
and Carolyn Johnson (John); 3 granddaughters, Gwendolyn Blackstone (Phil), 
Peggy Stephenson (Eric), and Susan Byrd (Doug); 10 great-grandchildren, Seth, 
Caleb, Jacob, and Jesse Blackstone, Brad, Emily, and Ashley Stephenson, Zach, 
Jordan, and Bethany Byrd. 


Additional Comments:
Clara Elizabeth (maiden name Bennett) Grimsley was born 7-20-1918 and died 3-7-
2008 and is buried at Evergreen Cemetery in Duval County Florida.
