DC # 63-027199). Jim Carroll Obituary Below From The Florida Times-Union 6-18-1963 Grimsley Funeral services for Shearvard Benjamin Grimsley, operator of Springfield Barber Shop, will be held at 4PM Thursday in the Franklin Street Baptist Church,2521 Franklin Street, with Rev. B. M. Cooledge, pastor, and Rev. Herbert B. Goodroe, pastor of Forest Hill Baptist Church, officiating. The body will rest in the church from 3PM until the funeral hour. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, under the direction of Estes-Krauss Funeral Home. Mr. Grimsley, who lived at 1820 Hubbard Street, died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born in Georgia and had lived in Jacksonville since 1939. He was a member of Franklin Street Baptist Church, Cool Spring Masonic Lodge 185 in Danville, Ga., and was a member of Carpenter's Local 627 for a number of years. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Bessie Grimsley; two daughters, Mrs. E. W. Troupe and Mrs. Lois Grimsley Powell; and two sons, William B. and Bob Horace Grimsley, all of Jacksonville; nine sisters, Mrs. Wilburn Brooks, Mrs. J. A. Anderson, Mrs. J. F. Martin, and Mrs. Clara Fountain, all of Jacksonville, Mrs. Beatrice Hardgree of Macon, Ga., Mrs. Sadle Caleel of Detriot, Mich., Mrs. Alma McGatha of Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. Susie Johnson of Milner, Ga., and Mrs. Dolly Young of Dry Branch, Ga.; five brothers, J. H., J. L., and Calvin Grimsley, all of Jacksonville and William and Charlie Grimsley of Macon, Ga.; five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be John Maxim, W. W. McQuerry, R. M. Scoates, and Deacons of Franklin Street Baptist Church; active will be C. C. Howell, J. C. Walker, T. A. Thompson, J. T. Braddy, Talmadge Leelie, and Frank Williams.
