He was a native of Georgia and had lived here 50 years. He was a carpenter and member of Carpenter's Local 627 since 1936. He was a deacon at the Franklin Street Baptist Church since 1940. Survivors include 6 sisters, Frances Anderson and Clara Fountain, both of Jacksonville, Dolly Young, Alma McGatha, Beatrice Crosby, all of Macon, Ga., and Sadie Moore, Columbus, Ohio; 3 brothers, Calvin Grimsley, Jacksonville, William and Charles Grimsley, Macon, Ga.; 17 nephews, 11 nieces, of Jacksonville and Macon. Funeral services at 10:30AM Saturday in the Franklin Street Baptist Church, Rev. Robert C. Carter, officiating, assisted by Rev. David Rich. Pallbearers: honorary, deacons of the Franklin Street Baptist Church and E. 44th Street Baptist Church; active, Bob Grimsley, Edgar Anderson, Joe Anderson, Fred Grimsley, Gary Martin and Carlton Martin. Interment Restlawn Cemetery, arrangements by Jacksonville Funeral Home, 1824 Pearl Street. Additional Comments: Jim Henry Grimsley was born 8-17-1896 and died 5-19-1976 and is buried at Restlawn Cemetery in Jacksonville, Florida.
