Maurey, was our Col. and we did service under him, also under Gen Maurey as our commanding officer, we were detailed for scout duty through Alabama, Mississippi and Florida, and Louisiana." "I was never captured, imprisoned, exchanged or paroled." Whereabouts at close of war: in Washington County, Florida scouting alonging the Chotahatchia River.
