Jones, aged 51 years, died at his home at 425 East Government Street yesterday afternoon at 6:15 o'clock after an illness of but a few days. The funeral services will be conducted from the home at 3 o'clock this afternoon and interment will be made in St. John's cemetery. The deceased had lived in Pensacola for a number of years and his many friends here who will be grieved to learn of his death. At the time of his death he was conducting a meat market at the corner of Tarragona and Intendencia streets and was in his place of business until the day before death came. He had been engaged in the meat market and produce business in this city for many years. Death was due to erysipeias produced by an injury when he was accidentally struck by a meat cleaver. He was manager of the Morgan market and had been in the employ of the firm for twenty years. The pallbearers will be J.W. Williams, G. Pfeiffer, J. Malone, J. Glackmayer, W.H. Coyle, L. Pfeiffer, W.H. Fillingim and F. Martz.
